Record Roots

Every Month – Wednesdays 9pm (UK Time)

Hosted by Joe Cronin & Greg Aris, Record Roots is a unique show exploring the samples used in some of the most iconic hip-hop, dance and electronic records. Each month, we’ll take an artist and unpick which samples they’ve used throughout their discography. The show originally aired on Hoxton FM back in 2017, before coming to BRUM RADIO in 2020.

This month Record Roots breaks down the many samples used by hip-hop legend, Jay-Z. Following his return to the Spotify library, we explore tracks used by the Brookly rapper from early albums such as ‘Reasonable Doubt’ right through to Frank Ocean collaborations on ‘Watch the Throne’.
