Podcast Production Coordinator – Outer Circle
Volunteer · Birmingham studio / remote · 4–8 hours per week
Outer Circle is our daily what’s-on podcast for Birmingham – and we’re not here to tell you the arena tour’s sold out. We’re the show that shines a light on the stuff that deserves more attention: the new band in a back room in Digbeth, the tiny gallery opening. We’re looking for a Production Coordinator to keep it all running: the person who holds the schedule together and makes sure every episode lands on time.
It’s a volunteer role, but a proper one. You’d be the person the team leans on to know what’s due, who’s on it, and when. If you’re the friend who always ends up organising the group, the one who can’t help colour-coding a plan and quietly keeping everyone on track – this is for you. You don’t need a CV full of production credits. You need to be organised, reliable, and the kind of person who makes things happen.
What you’d do
- Keep the production schedule moving, from first idea to finished episode
- Stay on top of who’s doing what, and chase it when things drift
- Be the go-to point of contact for contributors, hosts and editors
- Spot the snags early and sort them before they turn into problems
- Keep running orders, notes and workflows tidy and up to date
What we’re after (it’s about how you’re wired, not your job history)
- You’re brilliantly organised and you actually enjoy it
- People can rely on you – if you say it’ll be done, it’s done
- You’re happy taking the lead and running with things on your own
- You stay calm when there are ten things on the go at once
- You love Birmingham and you’re curious about its under-the-radar scene – the small venues, the new names, the things the big listings miss
- A soft spot for podcasts or audio is a bonus, but organisation comes first
